Dr. Simon Krige
ANESTHETIST
Dr. Simon Krige is a highly skilled anaesthetist with a wealth of experience spanning several continents.
His journey began in 1984 at Greys Northdale Hospital in KwaZulu Natal, where he commenced his training. Dr. Krige later pursued specialisation at prestigious institutions such as UCT Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
His thirst for knowledge and expertise led him overseas, spending a formative year in the United States as a Resident.
Dr. Lance Thompson
ANESTHETIST
Dr Lance Thompson is an experienced anaesthetist who has worked with Dr Lionel Jedeikin for more than 15 years and has worked at Alchimia Clinic since its inception.
Dr Thompson has a particular interest in paediatric anaesthesia, but he has a wide scope of practice, including anaesthesia for plastic and reconstructive surgery.
A dedicated team member, Dr Thompson is committed to the highest levels of patient safety and care, in order to ensure the best peri-operative experience.
Dr. Luc Evenepoel
ANESTHETIST
Dr. Luc Evenepoel, a Belgian-born medical doctor, pursued specialisation in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of Cape Town.
His expertise in these fields is matched only by his talent as an author and motivational speaker.

Dr. Janieke Van Nugteren
ANESTHETIST
Dr. Janieke van Nugteren is a highly experienced Anaesthetist based in Cape Town, South Africa, whose career spans over two decades. Graduating as a specialist from the prestigious University of Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital in 2009, she has since established herself as a prominent figure in the field.
Having spent 12 years as a Senior Specialist in the department, Dr. van Nugteren has garnered extensive expertise in various aspects of anesthesia, including cardiac and vascular anesthesia Her role also extended beyond clinical practice, as she served as an examiner for the Final Specialization exams, contributing significantly to the training and evaluation of new specialists. Furthermore, she took charge of the Chronic Pain Management Clinic, demonstrating her commitment to holistic patient care.
Dr. Jakub Sadzik
ANESTHETIST
Dr. Jakub Sadzik, a native of Pretoria, completed his matriculation at Pretoria Boys High School in 1994. He earned his MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 2000.
Following this, Dr. Sadzik undertook his internship at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and fulfilled his community service obligation at Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in KZN.
Subsequently, he briefly served as a surgical MO in the UK before returning to South Africa to participate in the DA medical officer training program at GF Jooste Hospital in Cape Town.
Dr. Sadzik then pursued further specialisation by joining the UCT Anaesthesia training program in 2008, achieving his Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists (FCA)(SA) in 2011.
Dr. Liezel Schmidt
ANESTHETIST
Dr. Liesel Schmidt is a dedicated anaesthetist with a passion for patient care and safety. She currently practices at several prestigious medical institutions, including Vincent Pallotti, Durbanville Medical Centre, Cosmetic Surgery Institute, and ALCHIMIA CLINIC.
With a strong background in anaesthesiology, Dr. Schmidt ensures that patients undergoing various medical procedures receive optimal pain management and comfort.
